His writing, resolutely contemporary, includes elements borrowed from his rich cultural heritage, but also from other historical epochs and often far-off traditions. His music is part of a unique relationship between knowledge and culture. Fallahzadeh’s compositional process attaches great importance to the morphological development of sonic gestures, to the evolution of timbres, and to spatial interactions among different layers of sound.

Biography
Born in 1981, Sina Fallahzadeh is an Iranian composer who lives in France.

He studied composition at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional (CRR) de Paris, at Pôle supérieur d'enseignement artistique Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), and at Haute école de musique (HEM) in Geneva.

Before that, he earned his master's degree in piano performance from the Art University of Teheran.

From 2015-2016, he attended the IRCAM’s practical training in Composition and Computer Music (Cursus) in Paris.

He was a finalist in the 2012 Métamorphoses competition, the winner of the Luigi Russolo competition in 2013, and among the winners of the "Diaphonia and XelmYa+" in 2017.

Sina has studied composition with several renowned musicians in different parts of the world. In Paris, he studied with Gérard Pesson, Denis Dufour, and Édith Canat de Chizy. He had the opportunity to study composition with Michael Jarrell, Luis Naón, and computer music with Éric Daubresse in Geneva. In Tehran, he studied with Alireza Mashayekhi.

He has collaborated closely with numerous composers, including Franck Bedrossian, Marco Stroppa, Hèctor Parra, and Frédéric Durieux in workshops, master classes, and courses.

His music has been played in several countries across Europe and beyond, such as France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Croatia, Estonia, Ukraine, the USA, Mexico, South Africa, Japon and Iran. His work has been performed by renowned ensembles, including 2e2m, Itinéraire, Cairn, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, United Instruments of Lucilin, Vertixe Sonora, Ensemble Du bout du Monde and XelmYa+, among others, on international musical stages.

As a composer, Sina combines elements of his cultural background with contemporary ones to establish a unique perspective.

The selected elements come from various musical cultures, historical epochs, and geographical places. Each piece for him has a very profound relationship with culture.

Hence the source of inspiration is seeded in the cultural references and images coming from far away, or in objects and symbols belonging to somewhere else.

The morphological development of the sound gestures, the evolution of the timbre, and the spatial interaction of the different sound layers have a crucial place in his musical composition.

Katalin Karolyi and Ensemble Itinéraire performed Spazio Datemi II for mezzo-soprano and ensemble in its first performance in Festival Messiaen au pays de la Meije 2023

I'm thrilled to be part of Fetsival Ensemble(s) 2023 with the premiere of Micmac for flute solo.

The edition of my three flute pieces - Micmac, Sakura, and Funambule - by Édition Henry Lemoine.

Very honoured to be invited by France Musique to the Scala de Paris for the Action! Création evening!

On the program: Les Ombres Indécises, Commissioned by France Musique in collaboration with Ensemble CAIRN

Étoile filante, winner of the Russolo 2013 competition, will be performed on the Motus acousmonium during the Futura 2023 festival

The premiere of Sakura and Funambule for the flute will take place on February 11th at the Antoine Artaud library in Ivry Sur Seine

Biography

Born in 1981, Sina Fallahzadeh is an Iranian composer who lives in France.

He studied composition at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional (CRR) de Paris, at Pôle supérieur d'enseignement artistique Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB), and at Haute école de musique (HEM) in Geneva.

Before that, he earned his master's degree in piano performance from the Art University of Teheran.

From 2015-2016, he attended the IRCAM’s practical training in Composition and Computer Music (Cursus) in Paris.

He was a finalist in the 2012 Métamorphoses competition, the winner of the Luigi Russolo competition in 2013, and among the winners of the "Diaphonia and XelmYa+" in 2017.

He has collaborated closely with numerous composers, including Franck Bedrossian, Marco Stroppa, Hèctor Parra, and Frédéric Durieux in workshops, master classes, and courses.

As a composer, Sina combines elements of his cultural background with contemporary ones to establish a unique perspective.

The selected elements come from various musical cultures, historical epochs, and geographical places. Each piece for him has a very profound relationship with culture.

Hence the source of inspiration is seeded in the cultural references and images coming from far away, or in objects and symbols belonging to somewhere else.

The morphological development of the sound gestures, the evolution of the timbre, and the spatial interaction of the different sound layers have a crucial place in his musical composition.
